Office of Young Adult Activities Mission Statement - To create programs that develop and enrich the lives of Orthodox Teenagers, with the goal of helping them cultivate lasting relationships with both the Church and each other.
Founded in early 2004, and formally known as The Teen Activities Committee, OYAA was originally a task force created to develop a comprehensive educational program for the 14-17 year age group to coincide with the existing 7-13 year age group program at St. Tikhon's Children's Summer Camp. Comprised solely of volunteers, each member utilized their unique talents to make the very 1st Teen Camp such a huge success that it is now a yearly event at St. Tikhon's Summer Camp.
Since then, OYAA has become an official department of the Orthodox Church In America's Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania, expanding their compass to including the planning and execution of teen related events throughout the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania. The members of the OYAA also remain heavily involved with the planning and administrative duties at St. Tikhon's Summer Camp as a whole.
With the objective of developing and enriching the lives of Orthodox Teenagers, OYAA hopes that these programs will help the teens cultivate lasting relationships with God and each other.
